JALCHHOBIR RANG

Jatileswar Mukhopadhyay wrote lyrics, composed music, and sang—all at the same time. He sang far fewer songs than he wrote or composed; yet, the majority of the songs he did sing became timeless classics. His lifelong profession was teaching music. He demonstrated firsthand how the richness of the Bengali language and the artistry of words could enrich Bengali music.
